I already have an existing broadband internet account with AOL. Their price for broadband internet is a bit expensive, and I was wondering if you knew any ways to get them for free again, just like I did with their trial offer.

High speed internet for free? Are you sure? Well, actually, you’re in luck because I was able to receive free broadband internet service from AOL before, even after I already have an account with them. I don’t have AOL broadband anymore, but this is what happenned.

I called AOL support because I wanted to cancel my broadband account with them. I explained to the Rep that I had signed up for their free trial a few years ago, but unfortunately, I can no longer afford to stay with their service. I also mentioned that I was shopping around for other providers, in case they were cheaper or had free trial promotions being presented.

Do you know that the Rep did? He offered me another 3 months of free high speed internet service just for staying with AOL! Of course, I couldn’t resist the offer and decided to hang on to their broadband service.

About 6 months later, I called again to cancel my broadband account with the same explanation as I gave earlier. Again, the rep offerred another 3 months of internet service for free and his reason was because I was “a loyal customer for about 5 years” (I had signed up with AOL when they only used to provide 56k Dial-Up service; high speed wasn’t available then).

The process kept repeating itself, and I had free internet service for several months because of it.

Now, I was not cheating here. I really did intend to cancel my account, but they insisted in me staying with them. So this is not my fault! Will it work with you? I’m not sure if it will, so don’t take this story as a guarantee that you will achieve similar results. Remember, I had been a customer with them for a long time, so I guess they had a hard time letting me go.
