What is an adverb?


That’s a good question. We can offer a “formal” definition for it (and confuse you even more)… or we can just offer a simple solution…

Here it goes:
Anytime you ad the suffix “-ly” to a word, you are forming an adverb. Examples would be: “beautifully” or “highly” or “deeply”

Adverbs don’t always end in “-ly” but we just wanted to make it easy for you to figure out what an adverb is…
