Here is a simple and effective way of removing a callus with a razor and it shouldn’t hurt, nor should it lead to an infection, which can occur with more invasive methods.
Firstly purchase a new disposable multi-bladed razor, if you do not already own one. You can buy a bunch of disposable razors for just a few dollars.
The reason I say they should be new is to avoid any infection that can result from a used razor. Also a disposable razor should be sharp enough to ‘shave’ away the callus while at the same time sensitive enough not to cause pain.
This method is effective because it can be used to remove a callus on any part of the body and you have complete control over how much or little of the callus you remove.
1. Use rapid, short strokes over the callus shaving away the outer surface area of skin.
2. Continue shaving until you have removed as much of the callus as you feel is safe without causing pain or bleeding.
3. Apply soap and watter to the callus to ensure the area is clean and moist
4. Dry the area and then apply hand cream to further soften and smooth the area
For best results I recommend a special kit for removing a callus. You can purchase one for a few dollars. I recommend the E-Z Callus Peel Foot Callus Remover Kit
